Outdoor Retreats for Women

FALL 2022

Our fall Escape brings us to a private Escape in the mountains of North Georgia. Be prepared for warm days and cool nights. This family-owned camp is all ours for the weekend. Imagine a cross between a resort, a summer camp, a campground/”glampground,” and an outdoor adventure hostel. That’s Mulberry Gap!

We will be surrounded by some of the best trails for mountain biking, gravel cycling, hiking, trail running, and outdoor exploration in the southeast; Pinhoti, Bear Creek, Mountaintown Creek, Windy Gap, and Milma along with forest service roads, which connect the trail options and can be accessed right out of the driveway. Adventure awaits. Mulberry Gap is conveniently located just over an hour from the Chattanooga Airport (CHA) and 2 hours from the Atlanta Airport (ATL).

Once you experience it, we’ll bet you’ll come back again and again! Located in the heart of the designated Mountain Bike Capital of Georgia, this family-owned camp is a home away from home for outdoor enthusiasts. Situated off the beaten path at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, you can expect to be greeted by a serene natural environment.

One thing you won’t find at Mulberry Gap is a strong cellular or broadband signal. If you’re looking to stream your latest series, crunch data or spend hours on the phone with your besties, you won’t find that here. Instead, leave the phone in the car and the devices on your kitchen counter.

About Mulberry Gap Adventure Basecamp

This multi-level wooded property was beautifully designed by George Mitchell of Dalton, Georgia. Previously a mountain retreat for his family and friends, George brought in three sleeping cabins, a camp kitchen, and rustic dining hall. He cleared spacious camping areas and added enormous hand-built picnic tables. He provided a small bathhouse on the hill leading to the camp area. Two small ponds, fed by natural springs trickle into a brook that runs behind the cabins and camping area. Small bridges, viewing areas, and paths were constructed as well. Trout were stocked in the ponds for his grandkids. Wildflowers, wild mushrooms, butterflies, moths, salamanders, and turtles were plentiful as were rhododendron bushes, hardwood, and hemlock trees. An outdoor paradise!

The upper portion of the property was eventually equipped with a home, barn, pasture, ferrier shed, and large workshop. His hobby was mules and horses. All utilities were installed underground before adding a large circular, paved driveway. Nothing interferes with the natural beauty of the property!

📍Mulberry Gap is located on lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee and Yuchi Tribes.
